Our goal throughout this project was to make strong lines and a neutral palette feel warm and inviting. While it is a simple color story, this home has plenty of layered tones and natural textures
The Entry
Our clients prefer a very clean and neutral aesthetic, so in the entry way we set the tone with an interesting console, calming art and some warm natural accents.
The Kitchen
Just off the entry is a beautiful open concept kitchen, dining and living room. For the kitchen, we kept things light and bright and then contrasted that with beautiful Virginia Mist Granite on the countertop and backsplash. This stone was perfect for this kitchen - it’s dark but not too dark. To add balance and give the island a more unique shape, we chose to add drawers on the front side of the island and wrap the seating around two sides for a more conversational seating arrangement.
The Dining Room
Our clients already owned this beautiful piano that we decided to make a focal point in their dining room. By building out the wall for recessed shelves and adding art and lighting, this open dining room feels much more intentional. It is an unexpected detail that pulls this space together.
The Living Room
The family room is formal enough to host the most discerning guests but comfortable enough to be the family hang-out. We made sure there is enough seating for everyone to watch a movie or cheer on their favorite team and its proximity to the kitchen and dining make it an ideal gathering place for all.
The Home Office
Both of our clients had been working from home long before COVID came about, so they were already well accustomed to home office life. We stepped up their work-from-home situation by giving them matching desks with a peninsula in between for extra workspace and plenty of storage.
Get The Look
Primary Bedroom
This serene space offers a reprieve from the chaos of life. The neutral palette, soft surfaces, and symmetry are calming and make for the perfect place to wind down and get the rest we all need.
primary bath
We added a makeup vanity with mirrors mounted to the tower cabinetry to maximize light and give the space a standout feature. Along the length of the double vanity on the opposite side, we used a long mirror to lengthen the space and added a shallow ledge above the counter for small toiletries.
The Laundry Room
With green cabinetry, penny tile floors & lots of natural light, this upstairs laundry room is the perfect place to sort, fold and hang clothes.
Girls’s Bedroom + BathRoom
This sweet little girl’s room is one of our favorite spots in the home. With a custom window bench and built-in shelves, this space is perfect for daydreaming. We added some interest to the tonal bathroom with paneling on the walls and a neutral checkerboard pattern on the floor. It’s playful yet sophisticated.
boy’s room
Since this room is for our client’s teenage son, we wanted to keep things simple and mature so it can be a place for him to grow up. We lined a wall with shelves for him to store his favorite books and collectibles through the years.
mudroom
We specified full-overlay cabinetry with a v-groove detail to make the utilitarian space feel special. It’s the perfect spot for winter coats, shoes, backpacks and anything else brought in from the garage to be neatly stored away.
Mudroom Bath
Just off the mudroom, we covered this bright bathroom with soft blue textured wallpaper and continued the tongue and groove you see throughout the home for consistency. The vanity adds the perfect balance of warm through the natural wood
