Frequently Asked Questions

  • We are a full-service design firm, so we offer a wide range of services. We can source furniture, consult with the builders and architects on design plans, choose finishes, design custom furniture, draw up custom cabinetry and millwork plans, and source unique accessories for your home.

  • We are a full service design firm, specializing in high-end residential design, large scale remodels, and new construction. We also occasionally take small, niche projects, like consulting on historic home restoration projects.

  • We don’t necessarily work in one style of design, so whether you want a more mid-century modern home, or you’re on the more traditional side, we would love to work with you! Our main goal is to produce timeless, thoughtful, and beautiful spaces for our clients.

  • After meeting and gaining an understanding of the scope of work, we will give you an estimation of how many hours we think your project will need and go from there. Depending on your project, we can make recommendations on whether an hourly or flat fee structure would work better for you.

  • We recommend that potential clients start looking for a designer approximately six months before they will need them. This can be difficult to estimate, but generally speaking, several months in advance will allow our team to put you on our schedule. We don’t currently have a formal waitlist, but we do recommend reaching out in advance to make sure that we have availability for your project.

  • If you have a project that you would like to speak to us about, please visit our services page. After filling out to corresponding for to your project, we will reach out to you and start working on bidding out your project.

  • This really depends on what your project is. If you are doing a smaller remodel, or we are primarily sourcing furniture for you, your project will be completed in a few months. If it is a new construction home, the project can take up to two years to complete.

  • Marianne Brown started this business after designing her own home 10 years ago, and falling in love with the design process. Between our team members, we have more than 24 years of experience in interior design work.

  • We are based in Salt Lake City, Utah, but are available for projects nationwide. For projects outside of Utah, we primarily work remotely, with intermittent in-person site visits and the final installation.

  • We pride ourselves on being highly communicative with our clients. We know that the home build process can be incredibly stressful, and we want to minimize that stress in any way that we can. We want to help our clients build a space that works for them and their family, not that conforms to any specific style or brand. We will help you design the home that you want, and will not push you in a direction that you are not comfortable with. Additionally, we believe in respecting our client’s money, so if you give us a budget, we will stick to it.

  • Based on years of experience we have some best practices when it comes to communication. This includes a mix of in-person meetings, email, and messaging apps to streamline the process.
